Ipswich River Canoe Trip and Bird Survey
Saturday, May 23, 6:00 a.m.
Rte 97 & Juniper Lane, Topsfield, MA

Contact person: Phil Brown nebirdsplus@comcast.net

Please join us and participate in the 103rd ECOC birding trip down the Ipswich River! Arguably the oldest uninterrupted bird-count in the world, this event is timed to get the best views of birds before full leaf-out but late enough in the season to get better weather for paddling.

We will meet and put in just south of Juniper Lane on Rte 97 in Topsfield (see below for directions). This is a 1/2 day paddle with time spent birding the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary so bring your canoe or kayak and join the fun rain or shine! Be sure to bring a bagged lunch and join us near the barn at the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary as we tally the days birds and recap the days events.

Please contact: Phil Brown at nebirdsplus@comcast.net or 978-890-7034 with the names, number of the people and canoes / kayaks in your party. ECOC does not have the ability to provide canoes or kayaks, should you wish to participate and do not have a canoe or kayak please contact Phil  and we will try to pair you with someone with room in theirs.

All participants MUST wear a PERSONAL FLOTATION DEVICE or will not be able to participate.

Please check the weather conditions prior to the event and plan accordingly.
